Activities Available at LOPC

Abseiling

Min Age: 5
Abseiling provides a fantastic opportunity to try your head with heights. The adrenaline you feel as you lean back and learn to trust your equipment leaves you with a lasting memory you can hold for the rest of your life. You’ll never forget your first abseil.

Aerial Trekking

Min Age: 8
Our Aerial Trekking courses have a lot to offer.  The courses will test your ability to cope with a series of challenges at height as you make your way around the tracked obstacles some 9.5-10m off the ground.

Air Rifle Shooting

Min Age: 8
A great activity to compete against friends or test your personal skills down at our range. Hit your target and take it home with you, or shoot your shot at the tin can line up. This activity can be run in any weather, with indoor and outdoor ranges.

Archery

Min Age: 5
Everybody loves the competing with their friends and themselves – finding out who’s the Robin Hood of the group, and who can be most improved! Archery is one of our most popular activities, with a range of recurve bows for different size and ages.

Balance Beams

Min Age: 5
A range of different balance beams at different heights to negotiate your way across. Our Inclined beams are at a 45 degree angle gradually gaining height as you go along them. There is also a slack line if you have the nerve to cross it! 

Bell Boating

Min Age: 5
Bell Boating is a brilliant, accessible, team based paddling activity that anyone can enjoy. A Bell Boat will hold either 8 adults or 10 children, they are great for playing games, going on river trips or even just introducing people to sitting in a boat and paddling it.

Bushcraft

Min Age: 5
An absolute favourite activity, playing in the woods and learning about survival. A must for everyone. A typical introduction to Bushcraft session will include shelter building and fire lighting.

Canoeing

Min Age: 8
Open Canoeing is a classic activity everyone can enjoy, one of the National Trust's top 50 things to do before you're eleven and three quarters!

Climbing

Min Age: 5
There is an amazing sense of achievement when you complete your first climb. Reaching the top and admiring the view is an experience you'll never forget.  You can also set your own target if you are feeling a bit nervous about heights.

Crate Stacking

Min Age: 8
This is a fun exercise for all the team to get involved with. The aim of the game is to build a crate stack as high as possible in a certain time before it collapses. The catch is, you'll need to stand on the tower as you're building it.

High All Aboard

Min Age: 8
A great activity that involves trust, communication and cooperation. We have a small platform at the top of what looks like a very high telegraph pole. You need to get your whole team to the top.

High Ropes Multi Activity Afternoon

Min Age: 8
Activities that can be included: Upper Aerial Trek, Lower Aerial Trek, Zipline, Powerfan, Climbing, Abseiling, Balance Beams, Crate Stack, High All Aboard and Gladiator Challenge.

Kata Kanuing

Min Age: 5
Fantastic boat for the family to paddle together, or for any groups wanting something a bit more stable than a canoe! A KataKanu is a cross between Canoeing and Bell Boating, a large enough craft for 6 people.

Kayaking

Min Age: 8
Learning to paddle a kayak can be a challenge, but once you've worked it out it opens up a whole new world - giving you the chance to paddle your own boat on the river. One of our most popular activities, so much fun to learn and plenty of games to play.

Sit on Top Kayaking

Min Age: 8
A great session for those who want a gentle introduction to kayaking, also great for parties!Perfect for people who aren’t comfortable sitting inside a general purpose kayak. Also brilliant for people who just want to get wet, try different tricks - and if you fall off you can easily flip the boat back and get back on.

Liquid Challenge

Min Age: 8
Our problem solving / team building activity with a watery twist - no swimming required! This is very much a water based challenge but completed on land. The team will have to complete a variety of challenges in order to win water. The more water you win the more likely you are to complete the final challenge.

Multi Activity Problem Solving

Min Age: 8
Our most popular corporate activity, and brilliant for all ages - a great way to encourage teamwork. Some challenges are physical, whereas some are more mentally demanding and some skill may also be required.

Leap of Faith

Min Age: 8
A superb activity for adrenaline junkies, such a thrill jumping and catching the trapeze 30ft high. Climb to the top of the post and try to stand on top - as the name suggests, can you take the Leap of Faith to catch the trapeze?

Paddlesport Beginner

Min Age: 8
These sessions are ideal for people new to the sport, but we also have regular paddlers whom enjoy the relaxed short paddle trip. The sessions tend to run as a short trip along the River Soar, learn a few skills and maybe play a game.

Paddle Trip Intermediate

Min Age: 8
A longer trip for more experienced paddlers. We like to go out and do a longer paddle on the River Soar in Leicester - usually 2.5 hours but sometimes longer if we are having too much fun!

Powerfan

Min Age: 8
The Powerfan gives you that instant thrill of falling through the air. All you need to do is step off the Powerfan platform which is 10m above the ground and off you go.

Raft Building

Min Age: 8
Raft building is a great activity that has proven to be very popular over the years. The task is simple – design your raft, build it, float it and return to the riverbank.

Paddleboarding (SUP)

Min Age: 8
Have a splash on the River Soar with the UK's fastest growing water sport. Our paddleboards are like large surf boards – you can lie down and use your hands, kneel on them and paddle like a canoe or stand up!

SUP Mega Board

Min Age: 8
The Mega Board is a large board that can have a whole group on at the same time. A great team building event as well as a chance to test your balance and have fun on the river.

Tandem Abseiling

Min Age: 8
Abseiling, but with somebody else next to you. The Abseil is a 10m vertical wall starting at the top of the high ropes tower, giving you the full height experience.

Kayak Hire (No Instructor)

Min Age: 8
You can now Hire a Sit on Top Kayak at the Leicester Outdoor Pursuits Centre for two hours, to paddle on the River Soar.
