LOPC Holiday Scheme
Are you looking for a safe, supervised and affordable way to entertain your children during the school holidays? If so, look no further than Leicester Outdoor Pursuits Centre’s Holiday Scheme.
Throughout the day the children take part in a variety of exciting activity sessions that commence at 09:30.
*Participants must already be in Year 1.
You can pay with: Credit/Debit Card, Paypal, Cash or Childcare Vouchers.

LOPC is signed up with the Government’s new Tax Free Childcare Scheme which you will be able to use for LOPC Holiday Schemes.
LOPC’s Holiday Schemes are registered with Ofsted (reg no. 226869).
Therefore, we can accept Childcare Vouchers as a means of payment for Holiday Scheme days.

Please be aware that childcare vouchers are non refundable once paid to LOPC.
Home education and group sessions
Home education can provide a flexible curriculum where a student can create and study what they want they to learn, and have more choices helping them to enjoy their education. With greater control over education, parents can ensure their children are taught in line with educational philosophies that are suited to their child’s learning style.
- Perhaps you want to supplement the learning your child experiences in a conventional school environment?
- Maybe your child has unique talents, but you have have concerns that your child struggles with some of the subjects taught in a traditional classroom setting.
- It could be that the pace of learning in a classroom setting is not right for your child and an education out of school would provide you with the opportunity to help them go at their own pace.
- Perhaps your child is able to focus better when outdoors, and finds the classroom environment is not conducive to learning.
Ofsted registered for Childcare, the LOPC is awarded the Learning Outside the Classroom Badge and the AHOEC Gold Award, demonstrating commitment to developing and education of young people.
The LOPC offers a broad range of Home Education sessions suitable for young people of all ages from 5+. The variety of sessions includes Science Days; with various focus days such as the Natural Environment, Mini-beasts, Water & Filtration and Friction & Fires; NICAS Climbing Award sessions from beginner to real rock; Paddle-sports from beginner level to white water; History days looking at the Stone Age; Maths Challenge Days and more.
Whatever your reason for home educating, the LOPC is here to help you and your child on their voyage of discovery!
After School Childcare
We offer adventurous childcare with our after school club. If your child is in year 1 or above and aged between 5 years – 16 years old LOPC is the place for you.
Using our fantastic outdoor space give your children the experience that will make memories that will last for a lifetime and all at an affordable price.
Collections and drop offs:

Rushey Mead Primary School
At a cost of £12.00
Please contact us if your child is from a surrounding Leicestershire area.
Alternatively, you can drop your child to the centre between 3pm -4pm at the cheaper rate of £11.00
Sessions run:
Thursday 4pm-5.30pm
We will provide a snack on arrival at the Centre.
Collection time is from 5.30-6pm

Emergency Childcare
We accommodate year 1 to age 15.
We do not have any provision for Early Years, and therefore we are not Ofsted registered for anyone under year 1. Participants must already be in Year 1 to attend.
Cost of childcare from 9:00 – 16:00 is £42.00 per child, where your child will partake in around 5 exciting activities. This is less than our standard daily rate which we charge for holiday scheme days, we do not add a premium for emergencies.
Important Information:
Morning Drop-off: 09:00
Sessions Begin: 09:30
Pick Up: 16:00 – 16:30
When collecting children at the end of the day, please ensure you inform a member of the sign-out staff before leaving.
During our open hours please contact us by phone or email. If we are closed, staff may access our LOPC Facebook account, therefore, you will be able to contact us outside of our opening times within reason.
Please Note: Emergency Childcare will depend on availability at the Centre, therefore, we will try our best to accommodate different school terms and unexpected school closures, but it will depend on our availability.
